Last year was a good period for the Miss Tourism Ghana Organization and the organizers of the pageant celebrated the year’s achievements with an intimate gathering at East Legon in Accra on New Year’s Day.
In attendance were programme sponsors, past contestants and the current queen, CLUB-Miss Tourism Ghana 2012, Esinam Awunyo. She won the Miss Tourism Africa 2012 first runner-up place at the Miss Tourism World pageant held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.
“After four years of producing the pageant, it feels good to pause and say ‘thank you’ to all that have helped to bring it this far and also collectively reflect on how we can continue to grow,” said the Miss Tourism Ghana Organization’s Events and Operations Director, Delphine J. Brew-Hammond who hosted the reception in her home.
Drinks and food flowed by courtesy of Accra Brewery Limited and Lele Foods and so too did ideas on ways to maximize the pageant’s momentum this year.
Past contestants, judges, designers, choreographers and modeling coaches all contributed to the deliberation that focused on the pageant’s two-pronged goal of promoting Ghana’s tourism potential and empowering the nation’s young women. |
